Parent Council

A message from the Council:

Thank you to everyone who helped and donated with the SEP Meal for the Teachers during SEP Conferences this Fall.  The Teachers LOVED the food and we are so grateful for the support we receive from the Parents here at Monticello Academy.

Upcoming Events:

Monster Dash "Fun"draiser:

Parent Council is gearing up and getting ready to help our Students have a lot of fun while getting some exercise.  Weather permitting, the Monster Dash will be the run (by popular demand of the students) again this year.  We are planning on the same route as last year as well.  A map of the route has been attached for your reference.  We will have parent volunteers stationed all along the route as well as WVCPD Officers at the neighborhood road crossings and at the Round-a-Bout for safety.  The students will be supervised by faculty and parent volunteers during the walk, however, parents are welcomed and encouraged to participate.

The Dash will go by grade, and the schedule is as follows:
8:30 AM Kindergarten (will do a run inside the school grounds)
8:30 1st Grade
8:40 2nd Grade
8:50 3rd Grade
9:00 4th Grade
9:05 5th Grade
9:10 6th Grade
9:15 7th Grade
9:20 8th Grade
9:25 9th Grade
12:05 PM Kindergarten will do an activity in the gym.

After the run the students will be given a light snack and drink while they listen to some spooky fun music and play for a few minutes before returning to class.

Parents are encouraged and welcome to participate in the Dash with their children if they want.  We also have lots of volunteer opportunities available.  The following link will take you to a Sign Up if you are interested in volunteering for this event.

Fall Boxtops Deadline: October 14th

Monticello Academy receives money based on the number of Box Tops we collect and submit each year.  With your help, we can earn money for our school this year.  The final contest deadline for this school year's collection isOctober 14th, 2016.   Collecting Box Tops for Monticello Academy is very simple.  Clip Box Tops from your favorite grocery products.  Look for the pink Box Tops coupon on brands like Cheerios®, Betty Crocker®, Huggies®, Cottonelle®, Pillsbury®, Ziploc®, Kleenex®, Hefty® and many more.  Attached to this email is a document with lots of coupons for items that have Box Tops on them.

It is a very easy 3 step process.

1. Clip Box Tops from specially marked products.
2. Turn in the Box Tops to your school.
3. School receives a check.

There will be collection sheets with various contests throughout the school year.  You will find extra collection sheets on line at www.boxtops4education.com, attached to this email,  or on the Parent Council Bulletin Board in the school lobby. If you don’t have a collection sheet simply tape or glue box tops to a sheet a paper with your name and teacher name.  Having your name and your teacher name will ensure credit for contest and prizes.  If you want to place box tops in an envelope or Ziploc bag.  You may turn box tops to your teacher or the Box Tops collection box in the Front Office.
Please trim box tops without cutting off expiration dates.
