We are excited to announce Monticello Academy’s second annual SMASH Camp!! This program is designed to give students hands-on, fun activities, experiments and projects using science and math concepts, all with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) foundation.
SMASH Camp will run Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM from June 12 to June 30. This is for Monticello Academy students currently in grades 6-9 and will be held at the school. Students will need to be in regular Monticello Academy uniforms. The program is divided in three weeklong sessions, each week focusing on different concepts and activities. Students can pick and choose which week(s) they would like to attend, or they can attend all three!
Cost for the summer camp is $15 per week. This fee will cover supplies for the activities. Students will need to register with the front office and pay their fee(s) by June 2nd. Register by calling (801) 417-8040 or emailing email@example.com. This will allow the teachers time to purchase enough supplies for the students who want to attend.
Ms. Nugent, Ms. Fritzsche, Mrs. Betzer and Mrs. Porter will be co-teaching SMASH Camp this summer and students will rotate each day to all of these teachers so they can participate in at least three or four activities per day. Below is the schedule of activities/topics for these weeks. There may be additional activities planned that are not listed, but follow the theme for the week.
Please note that Ms. Nugent’s class will be doing a blood splatter activity for 2 of the days and she will notify the students and parents so that students will be able to bring a change of clothes for that activity.
